Cast Adrift On An Open Sea – Written Monday 3rd May 2021 (Aged 46)

Cast Adrift On An Open Sea

losing both parents
feels different
and it –
casts me adrift
into a different place
somehow my –
previous horizon is laid to waste
at least,
when it comes to them

i think of them
in different ways
now they have both vacated
my future days

it is difficult
it is not even grief
it is just without either parent
you are now different
it is not about being complete
because,
neither of my parents completed me
but there is a sense of being –
a loss of feeling
cast adrift on a very different, open sea
