I Do Not Know You – Written Tuesday 4th December 2001 (Aged 26)

I Do Not Know You

do you really know me,
i do not know you,
do you know alice?
on reflection her imagination
was life’s greatest palace
and worldly contamination
is just too common in this place

do you know jesus?
the look upon his face
as he surveys,
this tormented and false place

do you know may?
when you are nine years old
tears is all she can take away
and perhaps, maybe, the cold

do you really know your parents,
all this hidden meanings
things you thought were well meant
but in turn, left you screaming

i do not really know you
i may find you have a solid gem
or be a real life, long term dreamer
and then, a real life, long term friend
