I Live For That Change
It was a weird day.
I got out,
to a world I don’t see,
and I heard what you said—
and that means
so much to me.
Because often,
I do not know
what to do
when it gets cold
and lonely.
But it is okay now,
I have you.
You can cry,
if you need to.
I am going to protect you.
We’ll be together—
maybe I can hold you.
I have not told you
how I feel;
life can be so cruel.
But I am always near.
I got out one day
and realized
things did not have
to be the same.
And although at the time
I did not know you,
and I had not heard
your name—
but now
I am glad I do,
and I live
for that change.
