How Was It?
disused spells lying in my driveway
a father’s long lost letter
peppers a giants causeway
apologies are left by a woman in a jar
and oh so slowly fade away
along with the remnants of yesterday
and a mixed emotion sits empty
in a trainee alcoholic’s glass
and someone’s innocence
sits begging at an inner city underpass
a dream slowly gets washed away
in a white enamel sink
as happiness is made on a wheel
from a bright blue wink
tell me, how do you feel,
tell me, how do you feel today?
did you glide in glorious monochrome
was the colour so rich
that happiness finally came home
