you still make me smile
after all,
it has been a while
and such a fool –
as i can be
knows that nothing is fool proof
but the gentle canter,
and the sound of hooves
only occurs in strange sleep
after all,
it has been a while
and as the sun still rises
on our relationship
it is a strange and beautiful ship
seas do not rip
after all,
life can be cruel
and pain can be measured in miles
but as i know
you still make me smile
