Try Being Me

i cannot not listen –
to what i have heard before
you are telling me
how it should be
and i do not disagree
but, you are not me
just as i am not you
you try being me
try living what i have lived
then tell me
that it is easy to give
you can pirouette and revolve
but for some people
it is much harder to evolve
you try being me
you try feeling as i do
when life has been given for free
when life has been there
it is easier to say –
and it is easier to see
you know how i feel
you try being me
