Hiding Inside
i talk to others
but they only ever get the surface
my darkest, deepest thoughts
they remain hidden
sometimes it is best to hide it –
for fear of hurting others
some thoughts –
just aren’t for friends or lovers
you put them to bed
and pull up the covers
there are things inside my head
things i never say,
even to my closest friends
things that can never be said
if you think my idle chat
is my truest expression
then you need my map
and to revaluate your direction
sure i talk to others
and it turns a wheel
but we all keep a little inside
never expressing how we really feel
