All My Angry Words – Written September 2002 (Aged 27)

All My Angry Words

another day of sitting down
and swinging your legs
on the cheap wooden slide
all my angry words
only ever sent out the tide
all those people
who sought my touch
now they row their boats
and i am stuck in the mud
the respect afforded to them
is not afforded to me
they drove off,
but peeled off at my apparent insanity
i started to laugh
and they zipped up their reality
conclusions are not difficult to draw
even the lost,
can see i have been shown the door
i smile outside but hurt inside
all my angry words
only ever sent out the tide
