Laying This Ghost To Rest
another night where dreams awaken me
spasms from another realm
i see him on the ship
on stormy seas he is at the helm
like unwanted video tape
that refuses to erase
the sickly references to my past
that ones that refuse to fade
another night of him staring in my dreams
with calculated fear
felt only by this human being
i wake up,
the too still calm of moonshine night
hurries up my concern
and then it hastens my plight
laying this ghost to rest
i can barely sleep for my nightmares
all i can do is do my best
laying this ghost to rest
from unsafe childhood into the arms of respect
