Life’s Shelf – Written Monday 20th December 2010 (Aged 35)

Life’s Shelf

you are amazing
but i am at a loss
thumbing a lift,
applying gloss
as i try to give
you are warm
and someone to be near
but this road
its signs are not clear
and the climate change
has seen an increase in fear
you are wonderful
a special friend
let’s leave this place
trouble is, i always end
and i am not down
or down on myself
no one should desire –
to be somebody else
at present though
i remain on life’s shelf
