Comfortable In Your Own Skin
why is being comfortable in your own skin
always a reason to attack
why is it,
when you do your own thing
people have to think there is something wrong
why can’t you just be yourself
why do people struggle,
to accept people for who they are
and i will be honest,
i am comfortable with being myself
i get on fine with my own mind
i could dress like a manakin
the kind you see in high street shop windows
i could waste my money on expensive clothes
but i do not care what the appearance shows
i know what the truth is
it is what the brain knows
i could tell you,
that maybe i should be the mountain
just speechless and dumb
do you think that maybe,
it would bring people much more fun
why is being comfortable in your own skin
always a reason for people to attack
are they just jealous?
jealous that perhaps they cannot be themselves
so tired of seeking approval from strangers
spending a sad life wanting to be somebody else
