Emotional Hurdles
emotional hurdles
you set them up
i tried to jump them
but they just got higher
i reached into the air
but i was called a liar
and more were put there
so i kept on jumping
taking this pointless test
talking about me,
but wasting my breath
emotional hurdles
out there on that track
how long, how often –
how many times
i looked at the phone bill
i counted the lines
emotional hurdles
in someone’s frightened mind
i tried to jump them
but of course, i fail every time
