When You Are Lonely

no one talks to you –
when you are lonely
no one talks to you –
when you are by yourself
no one finds you –
when you are lonely
and when you have nothing else to do
when you most need me
and i when i most need you
beautiful people –
spend too many days all alone
and no one talks to you
when you are on your own
no letter, no telephone
if only i did not feel so alone
no one finds you attractive
when you are lonely
no one wants to share your life
when you have so much of a gift
all sleep vanishes in the night
no one talks to you –
when you are lonely and not feeling right
no one loves you –
when you are feeling sorry for yourself
no one wants you –
when you would rather be somebody else
no one talks to you –
when you are lonely
