On Repeat

you just repeat over and over
it is the same thing
you are –
only trying to convince yourself
nobody listens –
because there is nobody else
left floundering –
like a whale stranded on a beach
the path to understanding
always beyond reach
all your prejudices behind clenched teeth
a scratched coin on barrier reef
you just repeat over and over
it is the same thing
a short play record of no true feelings
