Over Compensation
the clumsy over compensation
such as –
i am wanted
i am busy
look at me, look at me
i am always giving
look at me,
look at how busy i am
i am always living
the fact it has to be highlighted
the fact approval is expected
it show’s a lifetime of disapproval
and so much rejected
but of course the truth is sadder still
forced to dance with strangers –
under constant mental shellfire
and blinkered emotional danger
giving a new spin –
to the term, ‘lone ranger’
the clumsiness of their actions
and a life not too full
to comment and comment –
always wanting that approval
look at me, look at me
so scared of disapproval
you say, i am always giving
look at how busy i am
i am always living…
are you,
why do you need to justify it then?
