Motherhood – Written December 2006 (Aged 31)

Motherhood

motherhood –
you constantly seek approval
and a round of applause
it should not require a round of applause
it should not require a constant thanks
it is not a martyr’s cause
motherhood –
you constantly seek attention
for every deed done
yet many have so much less
yet you have much more than some
motherhood
like everything everything you do and say
you stumble towards the spotlight
so keen for those compliments

James Garratt – December 2006
