How Long Have I Had This Dent?
how long have i had this dent?
when i was a, ‘kid’,
i was different
but…
come to think of it that is not true
it’s just wreckage
that damn stupid wreckage
and,
i cannot escape,
and no amount of poetry
can write over the fact
there is no, ‘i am an artist’
and i deserve some payback
it is just wreckage
and i just cannot stomach the pain
not the type that it causes
how long have i had this dent?
good intentions intend to be well meant
but it is not an artistic difference
just bruises that ferment
