Square Box
you voted to the right once
but i cannot mock you
for that unforgivable fact
now you suddenly move to the left
good intentions but still so bereft
the secret is in the values we hold
that is where our maps begin
that is where our stories are told
you live in a square box
of that i am sure
i bet your cooker is bigger
than it ever needs to be
but then that is what your aspiration
really means to me
your noble left leaning gestures
are just in a pot,
stir the meal for one
just so they do mean a lot
