Just Deserts
the narrative of sexist jokes
where there is mixed clothing
and it is about, ‘blokes’
no one is sure who to aim it
there is crossfire,
and grenades thrown back
there are people and groups
who want to be individual
and they want to be recognised
but sometimes they slip on their tongue
and they start to generalise
they make jokes,
about those, ‘stupid blokes’
that they deserve it
and that this is just deserts
that this is mass oppression kicking back
that this is how it works
this is payback for years of hurt
i am not so sure,
it just feels like an unending war
