Caught Like Crumbs – Written Wednesday 13th April 2022 (Aged 47)

Caught Like Crumbs

they are broken biscuits
caught like crumbs
the trauma happened oh so young
adult life has a weight
measured in many tons
they are broken biscuits
achievement is unsprung
anxiety is doing a lap of honour
as if it has already won
they are broken biscuits
caught like crumbs
pictures of childhood badly hung
control dressed up as alluring fun
achievement lambasted
hope just a setting sun
they are broken biscuits
caught like crumbs
what do these adults us as sustenance
when they feed their young?
