Mindscape – Written Sunday 24th July 2022 (Aged 47)

Mindscape

my mindscape is vast
dare i explore,
head out, over the pass
back around,
and towards the coast
the national park
just seems vast
do i look and see what i can find
do any of us have the courage
to explore the plains of our mind
some places,
in my head,
are bathed in sun
some have thunderstorms
which have raged since i was young
some places in my mind
feel dark and hard
some places give me false welcome
and then they try to tear me apart
that is my mindscape
that is yours
do you back down and hold back
or dare to open those doors
