This Is How I Work

i am far too easily hurt
it should not be like this
but that is how i am
a feeling,
leaves me reeling
it is hardly appealing
but i dream in shadows
and darkness,
streams through buildings
constructed,
from my fertile imagination

i am far too easily hurt
that is,
the one true family inheritance
that is the hand me down
the family silver,
chipped,
to reveal the truth beneath
i could be bathed,
in a bath of true belief
but i would still hurt
it should not be like this
but this is how i work
