You Are Not Very Bright – Written Saturday 26th November 2005 (Aged 30)

You Are Not Very Bright

you are not very bright
and, to make it worse
you think you are
and, to confound all that further
you think everybody else
are the ones who are not very bright
but i can tell you that you are ignorant
an ignorant fool,
a lonely, abused child,
who made no friends at school
you are not very bright
it’s been a lifetime of taking second best
of not being seen or heard
and then losing self-respect
and although you claim to be bright
you are simply not
and you may think you are
but if your intelligence was a vehicle
it would never travel that far
