I Want to Be Held

i want to be held
i want to be held,
by those that love me
and their loving arms
i want her to hold me
as i must have been held,
when i was a baby
i want my love to talk to me
to tell me,
it will be okay
that the pain in my eyes
will eventually,
be lost to starry nights
that those windows
will once again be bright
i want to be held
to be safe,
and to be kept safe from harm
my brain feels rumpled
and my heart hurts
i want to be held
i want to be held,
so that i can mend the painful break
