In This Sadness I Am Caught – Written August 2022 (Aged 47)

In This Sadness I Am Caught

do we really take care of the things we love?
do we give them away
do we lose touch
are we afraid when it becomes too much
can we reach out and contact those
who are closest to us
or is it true to say that we let them go
only to watch them drift away
i think i am chained to this negativity
which has clogged my pours
because the iron will to turn the wheel has stalled
and the love needed to keep rolling the ball
has now ran short
and in all this sadness i am truly caught
