Emotional Memories

we have navigated –
such strange events
situations of hardship
people well meant
life,
it used to be very different
but then,
that was the way it went
yet we are judged
and we are examined
on situations –
others could never imagine

we have navigated –
such strange events
situations of love
people hell bent
it used to be very different
but then,
topography was the way it went
yet we here are,
and we remain travellers
and we move forwards
opening up our emotional memories
and things we were never taught
