I Didn’t Know

i didn’t know i was looking for you
till i found you
because when you’ve been seen as a book
and judged on its cover
it is good to find respect
and not someone who looks at past lovers
i didn’t realise that some words needed defining
not till i met you
because when you’ve been judged on your past
by those who thought they were your future
by those who never really caught me
and never really cared
then it’s good to meet someone like you
and it’s good to share
i didn’t know what i needed till i met you
