I Would Like To Be There
i would like to be there
but i am here,
placing sticky tape on my problems
and hoping that will be a solution
i go down,
every time you take off
i would like to be there
but i am here,
knowing seaside has gone deep inside
and that two worlds,
do not need to collide
it’s just everything seems so strained
and my mother,
she remains a little strange
i would like to be there
but i am here,
with an architect and surveyor
measuring my want,
layer by layer
and they are designing my feelings
with their dutiful labour
i would like to be there
but i am here…
