I Dreamt Of The Bomb
i dreamt of the bomb
but the indifference i felt
the inevitable ending of the earth
after all,
we have lived in such arrogance
are we about to blow away our smug smirk
i dreamt of a different world
where fear had come home
it had come in from the cold
and people were so afraid
are we even going to get old?
i dreamt of these things
of indian summers under a mushroom cloud
despite all this,
i did not scream aloud
i dreamt of the bomb
i guess these days we are all a little scared
we will probably never know
if those in power and in the know really care
