There Is No Coming Back
i am nearly thirty
yet i am still trying to work out sixteen
where have the twenties gone?
i guess i do not really know
the confusion and the feelings
are starting to feel slow
i am nearly thirty
and yet it does not feel such a big deal
an assessment of my goals
or my dreams does not sadden me
i have swam as part of a shoal
i have fought as an individual
and no matter what my annual salary
things could be much worse
i am nearly thirty
and i have got something so special
i will take everything from that
because time only travels forwards
there is no coming or going back
