Why Did I Write It All Down

uncomfortable with some of my chapters
some of the pages,
some of the words
and some of the muddled verse
why did i write is all down
now it can be read out loud
wouldn’t we all,
like our past to merge into a crowd
why did i write it all down
in hindsight, a level head, all that anger
over someone who couldn’t be a sister
all that self destruction over ex wives
times when i should have focused on construction
now i can see it clearly,
but at the time i needed to hear the sounds
but i only saw mine
and i thought there were walls to pull down
a barrier to find, a gap to bridge
exploring the landscape of my troubled mind
why did i write it all down
