Creep Into My Thoughts
sometimes you creep into my thoughts
you sneak in –
and remind me of times and moments
which had fallen away –
into the ravine of the past
we tell ourselves things –
knowing it does not last
someone said to me the other day
you have to learn to control feelings
i realised that perhaps they were right
i looked at them –
something so human in my sight
sometimes you creep into my thoughts
and through the shadow of my memory
a shadow in the corner of my eye
i know the way forwards
but when we touch and say goodbye
i guess that is why somehow
you sneak back back inside
