Measurement
when we are babies
age,
it is measured in months
then,
as we get older
age moves –
from being measured in months
and instead,
it’s measured in years
that is the measurement we use
then at some stage,
you measure it in fears
and then,
just how many tears have become water
the type that flows under the bridge
do not let the happiness hold you back
not from the edge
then when there is no life left
as we draw our final breath
age becomes inconsequential
by then we will have already left
