loving you
is just another brick –
in the wall of my life
another thing –
that draws in the light
another thing that shapes me
it is a shame
that the love does –
not set sail –
or even set me free
is is a shame –
you can not return it for me
loving you
is just another brick –
in the wall of my life
another thing
that defines who i am
sometimes i think
and i hope people understand
then i start to drink
and sad songs by a favourite band
start to play
and it descends into a deeper truth
that is,
loving you
