Get Over It
it is time we got over it
it shouldn’t be a mountain to climb
or an obstacle that blocks time
it’s time we got over it
it feels like there have been decades
in fact it’s only years
the alcohol has affected my memory
it’s made things hazy
if only i could remember
it’s time we left it well alone
we shouldn’t be dogs,
gnawing on a bone
picking over what little scraps there are
it’s time we moved on
away from this desolate place
it shouldn’t be a place that we call home
it’s time we got over it
it shouldn’t be a stormy sea
one that hides land to remote
a land that we will never cross
and one which will never float
this isn’t our pitch,
let’s make it to somewhere where its better
it’s time we got over it
