Cold October
it’s so cold this october
believe me,
i don’t want just another
i want someone special
someone to pick out my splinters
someone to smooth out my rough edges
stop my ill health and lack wealth
spiritual wealth that is
because of course i am looking for too much
a god like creature,
who comes out of the dark
someone who changes the bulb
and turns on my lights
it’s so cold this october
i am wearing all the clothes i can
and i’ve kept my sense of humour
but people still turn away
it feels like i had a one night stand with luck
they’ve left me cold
and i haven’t had any luck since
when you’re left alone with yourself
it takes you out and towards the brink
it’s so cold this october
