Pastimes
i think i first took up crying –
to get through my birth
and then again at nine
when life once again started to lurch
when destinations –
were hard to find
and i started crying again at fifteen
when i lost my mind
and i think,
i have been doing it ever since
sometimes it is other people
sometimes when it doesn’t make sense
i took up crying,
when my dreams looked bent
and now,
i cannot give it up
i guess it helps when you are down
when it all becomes too much
i wonder,
could we swim within our tears?
could they wash away the pain?
we cry for the senselessness of it all
and i know there is no one to blame
