Looking For Happier News – Written Sunday 13th May 2007 (Aged 32)

Looking For Happier News

i could not make sense
of my muddled thoughts
so i traipsed through my past
to see if comfort could be sought
the housing estate,
the faded victorian house,
the promenade,
the estuary which flows
i caught my reflection
in the gaudy neon lights
i felt an untamed cold
that did not come from the night
i could not make sense
of such terrible news
a world of colour,
suddenly just multitudes of blue
and me,
scrabbling at my past
look for clues and a brighter light
looking for happier news
