Ransacked My Identity – Written Sunday 20th May 2007 (Aged 32)

Ransacked My Identity

you ransacked my identity
and i can i only see it as something –
that you did –
to satisfy your own miserable self worth
to warm yourself –
by the rusty range
you tried –
to devalue the love others have for me
with your wicked rumour and jibe
and we have seen the way –
you most expertly dodge –
seemingly aching to be so snide
you wanted an impossible childlike love
honesty?
truth…
shared…
it was all so snatched
you made false claims and caused distress
you failed to see any wood for the trees
that is why emotionally, you are a mess
you patronise people and talk down to them
as if we are somehow thick
but unlike you, we live our lives
and yes, we do get it
