Co Pilot – Written Tuesday 26th June 2007 (Aged 32)

Co Pilot

i was born on a rudderless ship
raised in an endless traffic jam
i went to school in the barren desert
where no could ever really understand
i dreamt on a distant planet
all it was lacking was a warm sun
i was snared by modern invaders
but that’s the nature of being young
i was loved on a battlefield
caressed amongst the slain and the weak
taken by the sound of cannon fire
romanced by the words i dare to speak
i found happiness in the jokes –
from those too easily left behind
i find the drama of insanity,
in the vending machine of my mind
let me steer this ship now
away from the vain and the bored
with my one and only co pilot
i was born to keep moving forwards
