Upstream

you undermined us
and it easy to say –
well,
if love is strong
it will find its way
is companionship is here
it will have the its day
but storm the doors
cross the moat
a foot pushing down
on those trying to float
it’s terrible and mean
but eventually it works
for those forced upstream
