Emotional Exhaustion

we have travelled so many streets with you
offered so many different destinations
we have accepted several points of view –
for all of your contradictory situations
we have climbed so many mountains
and looked on from the very top
we have offered every hand that we have
and still you wait or just stop
we have exhausted all of our compassion
we have used up our goodwill and senses
you have nullified all of our passion
with your lies, dishonesty and poor defences
