Someone Reached Out
someone reached out –
and touched
it brought tears to my eyes
they found the softness –
hiding deep inside
someone touched me,
and i no longer felt afraid
ill gotten,
or only half made
i felt the pressure go
and i felt almost saved
someone reached out –
and accepted me for who i was
it’s been such a long time
since anyone has done that
i have been here too long
wearing my dunces cap
someone touched my mind
and lit its touch paper
i watched the hurt
burst like a firework
and all the colours i saw
made me feel –
that i could be me for ever more
