and tell me,
it is all just a fallacy
that is truer

never really nailed down this being with others
because,
boundless love does not provide all weather cover

growing up –
covered in affection
but tied –
with a bow of misdirection

the self confidence
is too much
and then,
it is not enough

we think back and place parts of our lives
in phrases or blocks
behaviour that went too far
behaviour that we could not stop

wear your poppy they say
but i know it has become politicised
true meaning has fallen away
