take me back –
to the beaches of normandy
with my special friend,

i know this is not the end
i know thing are getting good

feelings i have
things i feel
what i catch
it’s what is real

and in the real world,
my spirit would die
i know the adults will take it
i do not know why they do that
if they want,
they can have my building blocks

they keep on saying
practice make perfect
keep on turning people away
not so long ago
i would have not believed in that day

you are built –
like a silver shod future machine
you are a blast from the past
but my angel,
i wish i knew what you had seen

you have got to sleep
it is getting late
the stars are not hiding no more
the land of imagination cannot wait
go through the night-time door

convincing yourself
of exactly how you feel
and how you feel about –
somebody else

i feel relief
i feel relief at not seeing you
i feel so guilty
it is weird, but i really do
