Toy Store World (King of the Spaceships) – Written Monday 7th November 1994 (Aged 19)

Toy Store World (King of the Spaceships)

i am just a child stuck in the worlds –
biggest toy store
i do not know which toy to play with
i do not know anything anymore
do not take me outside, i am a child
and in the real world,
my spirit would die
i know the adults will take it
i do not know why they do that
if they want,
they can have my building blocks
if that is what they want
and my childlike world makes sense
but yours is cruel and frightening
i do not want to lose my innocence
because i still find some things exciting
so let me stay in this toy store
lock the doors, go away
i have got my spaceships
leave me alone,
because the real world is where you die
let me sat forever a child
where i believe my hopes can stay alive
let me be in this toy store
i cannot go out anymore, so lock the doors
Let me stay in this toy store
and let me be king of the spaceships
