Brew – Written August 2022 (Aged 47)

Brew

someone –
told me something –
i already knew
grandiose –
in their point of view
they felt their intelligence
was a helpful brew
but i am not sure –
i learned anything new
because words copied down –
and –
sellotaped –
to certain parts of your brain
is not the same –
as when someone –
really understands your name
i don’t doubt the validity –
of somebody’s point of view
their awareness –
or even their iq
but had they thought –
they would have seen that i already knew
and that is why –
i was not interested in their brew
and i was not interested in their meal
but nonetheless they asked me to eat and chew
grandiose as they were –
in their point of view
i think i will decline though –
i am not convinced by their homespun brew
