Ask – Written Friday 16th December 2005 (Aged 30)

Ask

you can have a lifetime of being told who you are
of being told what you think and how you feel
you can have a lifetime of assumption and mis representation
but if you never speak up or speak out then how will people ever know?
you only need to ask,
there is no need to fear the contents of what’s inside
you can have a lifetime of everyone assuming things about you
of people telling you what they think
even if they are the type of person who does not think much at all
i wonder, if only in amongst all this,
people would stop telling you who and what you are
would they treat you like a human being?
if only you would just ask… take the time on people, have curiosity and just ask
