i have been nurturing it
since my childhood conception
it has been my defence
in amongst teenage rejection

i looked around
and i picked on you
you looked cold and mean
probably just trying –
to scramble out of here

as we walked
we must have seen a thousand things
astrals lands
astral beings
flowers bathed in a nighttime glow
people who are counted
and things that would not grow

as you left me
i fell deeply into the void
got to get away
from the society that menaces us today

it hurt me,
and somehow i felt unsure
is this real, as i begin to move closer
