Around The Corner – Written Sunday 10th June 2001 (Aged 26)

Around The Corner

take a peep around the corner
a new era awaits
it’s running down the road
and has been,
for several years
and finally it is catching up
with what was never clear
now,
so close,
you can almost reach out and touch
take a peep around the corner
the next part awaits
i know things may be clearer
but there is no expectation
not one of urban paradise –
that sits under cloudless skies
there is too much experience
in these old blue eyes to expect that
but i know for sure,
that finally i can look forwards
and look forward to the future
